Clarissa Han…, Home Buyer in East Stroudsburg, PA
Tue May 31, 2016
Clarissa Hansen answered:
We have lived there since 2010 and it is a beautiful place. Very quiet neighborhood. The HOA fees are lower here ($750? about) than they are for other communities around us (Saw Creek Estates $1,100 or Great Bear). I have never had any problems with the neighbors or children in the area. Now as far as the Board that runs the association- I'm sure every association has it's problems. Understand that a good majority of East Stroudsburg's housing is in some type of private community and they have the right to impose rules and regulations.... ... more

Both areas are equal and offer the same things that you are looking for. I suggest you drive around during the times school buses drop off to see what ages of kids live where.

Terri Keeler answered:
My husband and I have lived in the Souderton area for over 23 years. The lifestyle here is relaxed and there still remains an element of old time values and gatherings. There are concerts in the park, community events, etc...

The schools are A+. I raised two buyers here both with different scholastic needs, and Souderton has provided a great education.

SL, Both Buyer and Seller in Harrisburg, PA
Mon Sep 29, 2014
SL answered:
Please beware of Carlisle if you need hospital care or emergency care. Carlisle Hospital is notoriously bad (an Internet search should turn up articles about all their violations, dead and/or missing patients, and resulting citations). The hospital's parent company, Health Management Associates, a group hospital owner out of Florida, is just plain awful. However, if you buy east of Carlisle, you'll have easy access to Holy Spirit Hospital, Harrisburg hospitals, and you'll be closer to the renowned Penn State Hershey Medical Center - your best bet in this area. ... more

PA Homebuyer, Home Buyer in Newtown Square, PA
Mon Jan 6, 2014
PA Homebuyer answered:
DO NOT MOVE HERE. This place and its management are a joke. Of course, if you enjoy paying obscenely high HOA fees, and then receiving no support from the HOA when you need them to enforce their own bylaws, then by all means, go to Greene Countrie. There's nothing more I personally enjoy than being disturbed on a daily basis by my neighbor, and then have the HOA flake out on me when they need to step in and do something. ... more
