Hi there. We currently have our home in Timber Ridge on the market by owner. We love Timber Ridge. The HOA fees are extremely low compared to the Oaks and Diamondhead properties. We built our home in 2004 and rebuilt it after Hurricane Katrina. It has custom hurricane shutters for all doors and windows. We would not even consider moving except that it is just my husband and myself left at home and the house is much too large and we are building our retirement home on family property in West Virginia. We would love to have you stop by and take a look.

There is no buy-out program. That issue is dead, dead, dead as of 2009.

There is alot of property for sale all along the coast. For 39571/Pass Christian the prices on post Katrina vacant land are high and unrealistic. But the "Pass" is different in that for many, many property owners the property in 39571 was/is a 2nd or 3rd home & for many inheirited to begin with. So there is no real financial incentive to have to sell. Taxes on empty lots are low and even lower in the Harrison County parts of the "Pass", so it costs very little to keep the land. ... more

It is best that you drive the areas yourself. What will really help you is to go to the city hall...both in Long Beach and in Pass Christian and take a close look at the FEMA designated map of the different and old flood zones, and so on. This will give you the best unbiased information. After you look at these posters on the walls in there, the ladies are very helpful and can help show you where and what is being rebuilt.

In Diamondhead there are still some really good values...especially if you are willing to put in some sweat equity! There are also several new subdivisions on very large lots, (2 -3 acres big) north of I-10...take the exits just EAST of Diamondhead.
