Hi Miki-

Oh yes! Have you ever seen or heard about Golden Gate Park to start with? SF has multiple parks scattered throughout the City as you can see in the link below. Golden Gate Park, of course, is the creme de la creme.

Golden Gate Park has a portion of it closed every weekend so people can skate without having to worry about cars; and it just hosted the annual Hardly Strictly Blue Grass Festival. And then there is Ocean Beach, a great place to jog, walk, sit and watch surfers- we used to have late night bonfires there, but not sure if they are allowed any more.. And then there are the little hidden gems, like Baker's Beach and Land's End. Or Kite Hill. Or Buena Vista Park. Or Glen Park with its ropes course and paths . The list goes on an on.

Finally, if you are interested in the parks within the financial district (oh yes, they do exist) there is guy who gives tours of them. They are fascinating, but the only trick is you have to see them mid week when the buildings through which most are accessed are open.

ARE THEY EVER!

Depends on where you want to go.

Alamo Square is where they shoot the most famous postcard picture of Victorians in the foreground and San Francisco skyscrapers in the background.

My favorite is Crissy Field with magnificent views of the Golden Gate bridge, Alcatraz, San Francisco skylline, the bay. Fabulous area for in-line skating. Nice walk by the marinas. Lots of green space. Within walking distance to the Palace of the Arts, and not too far away from the Presidio.

"Good" may be an understatement.
