Charlie, I have lived in Florence 58 years and have had a wonderful Rainbow trout and Bass fishing on most of the 17 fresh water lakes in Florence. And an added bonus is the river and Ocean fishing for Salmon and Steelhead as well as Cut Throat trout.(Blue Back). You will need an Oregon State fishing license for the trout and a Salmon or Steelhead tag for the river or ocean fishing.. My husband was born in Florence and would be happy to show you the fishing opportunities in the area.

There is good fishing most of the year at various spots around Florence, both fresh and salt water. You need a state Lic. which is easy to get locally. There are lots of locals to talk fishing with!

There are over 25 lakes and streams within a 9 mile radius of Florence. Sutton and Siltcoos Lakes area directly connected to the ocean so both have fall run Salmon. Just pick up a license at the Sportsman or many of the local area stores like Bi-Mart, True Value Hardware etc. Happy fishing!

There are many lakes in the greater Florence area, and the majority of them cater to fishermen. Here is a good link from the Siuslaw National Forest Fisheries Program that gives you a quick rundown on each of the lakes in our area, and what stock you can find there.
