The answer is really very complex. Others have raised good points. Is your next home going to be one of the same value or more? If it's more, that's a case for paying extra. On the other hand, if you want to buy the next one before this is sold, you will need that additional money more as cash than as equity. Then there are interest rates. If you can safely invest and receive higher interest than your mortgage, that is a case for not paying extra. My own feelings are always to pay down your mortgage when you can. There's a feeling of safety and ease to this that I personally like very much. Making half payments but twice as often will help do this as well as simply adding extra to the principal. It can create some record-keeping nightmares, so make sure you are careful in your notes about how much and when you pay unscheduled payments.

If you were not planning on moving so soon, I would be stronger in urging you to make the extra payments.

Make sure the Realtor has an account with Trulia-which is free. Go into that listing and flag for Realtor and change to the one you want. Should be almost immediate.

Hillcrest Country Estates are in a great location just off hi-way 370 and 60th street just east of Papillion. Easy access to Offutt Air Base and Shadow Lakes Shopping Center on 72nd and hi-way 370.

There also is a lot of condo and villa housing around the area where all the outside maintenance is taken care of for you. To mention a few subdivisions where they are, Val Verde, Eagle Hills, Eagle Crest, Lakewood Village, Shadow lakes and so on.

Boyer Young was the Developer for Savannah Shores and this is their map site.
Grandview is an older subdivision in Papillion the actually have a facebook page

Sarpy county allows 2 dogs per household. You may find renters willing to lease if you have dogs but expect to pay at least 25% of the monthly rent for a deposit (that is the maximum allowable charge per Nebraska's landlord / tenant law - you can look that up online if you want!). We were considering renting out or home that is for sale at 21201 schofield drive in gretna - just west of papillion - and that is what I learned! good luck! ... more
