I am interested in this as well. I do plan on using both Google Display Network remarketing and Facebook remarketing, but I don't plan on using it until early next year.
My plan is to create a series of image ads for each and every blog post I create as well as image ads for every home I sell. Work the images so that they have my logo and/or face.
Put them into a remarketing campaign in Google, set it to only show in the areas I want to sell homes in, and set it to show only when click cost is low. I believe that the branding impact will be much better than anything you get from an actual click through. In fact, the click through factor would only be important in that you need to keep it high enough so that your ads are not put in a "do not display" status of some type.
The same concept can be used for the Facebook side of things. It all an be super-charged when using video as well.
