Hi Lois, 'is it better to buy newer -vs- older home really depends on what your needs and wants are. There are many good quality, well cared for older homes out there. It all depends on what you want in a house and why. Yes, many older homes, especially in the Palmyra area, do have oil baseboard heat. That is actually what I have in my home, but I have a new extremely efficient boiler, which I am very pleased with. The cost to convert.. It depends on what type of system you want to put in; if its gas, for example, is the gas already at the curb?. New updated plumbing and electrical is definitely nice to have. Your best bet is to work with a Buyers Agent who will help you to determine what is best for you based on your needs and wants. Then, let them help you to find the right home, or help you to have one built. I hope that helps you a little. ... more

You would love the townhouses at Rockledge. I am retired and live in a one floor end unit and I love it here.
There is a one floor end unit for sale at 210 Barrington court right now. If I were you I would jump on it.
It is quiet and peaceful here. Beautiful landscaping and open areas to enjoy. Good Luck.
