I would think if your on the deed homeowners is the primary choice of coverage. Are you not listed on the home owners policy?

Deed and Loan are typically separate unrelated items... Normally you would not be responsible for the note/loan regardless if your name is on the deed or not...

side bar question: why let house go into foreclosure when it could be sold, or possibly short saled if debt to equity ratio is too high...
