Hi Ann - There are no records of foreclosure or sheriffs sale on the county records. That doesn't mean it's not or maybe it's in the process. If it isn't or is in process, you might leave a letter on the door that you are interested in renting (but will most likely have to move after the foreclosure redemption period and/or it sells, if that applies).

If the bank has foreclosed, they will almost all the time 'sell' the property (they do not rent). If there's a way you can buy, it would most likely be less than the rent you would have to pay. If it is in the process of foreclosing or redemption period, you may deal with the owner.

If you like this answer or if it was useful to you, a quick click on the green 'thumbs up' would be appreciated.

The bad news is this home was sold. The good news is we have more on the market that are similar to it!
