I know this is an old post but I would like to add that Tulia's crime map is very off. I know a business owner in Santa Ana... S Main Street to be exact, and there has been a drive by shooting that shot out her windows, armed robbery, and prostitution in the area that doesn't show up on the crime map. ... more

Laguna Niguel is overall a very safe and wonderful city in which to live. I have lived and worked in this area for over 25 years and love it here! Research answered:
Santa Ana and crime free are oxymoron.

It is the second or third poorest city on Orange County.

It is the hub of illegal immigration.

The police will not give you the stats. Some websites might.

It is also a victims, yet again, of predatory housing prices. As poor and full of immigrant area it is now targeted for pricing that is higher than it was at the height of the bubble, the last one. Wages and jobs are way down, though.

The result is overcrowding and overcrowding is not crime free.

I may think I know the answer, but I am a qualified Realtor, not a lawyer or law enforcement person. Call the local police and discuss this with them. They can help you with the answer and a qualified Realtor can help you with your real estate needs.
