Dundee is a pretty good area. I'm not familiar with St. Margret Mary's. In my opinion best place for the least amount of crime is the North West Area North of Millard.

It's difficult to transfer into many of the Millard schools if you don't live in the district. Most are full/closed to transfers.

are you referring to schools close to Tudor Heights apartments?
Is so, the public middle school will be Morton located right over in Maple Village area.
The high school will be either Northwest or Burke as the divding line is very close to that area.

Hope that helps.

Depends on your situation. My son has autism and we used open enrollment to get him into Westside. I know many other families who have done the same. We have been very happy there.

I would suggest reaching out to other parents in the Omaha area who have children in a simalar situation as yours and get their opinion as, sadly, not all disabilities are treated equally in special eduaction at all schools. Your focus has to be for YOUR child.

As a side note, in case you are unaware, Doglas and Sarpy counties in Nebraska have what is called the "Learning Community." Through the LC, you can apply to go to any school district in the 2 county area regardless of the school district you live in. IF they have space available and IF you are selected through a multi step process, your child can attend a school in the district you applied to. Also, the LC's status is always under review at the state legislature so it's future is not guarenteed.

Jules, Above is another link you may find helpful. This site www.schoolmatters.com is a service of standard and poor that rates schools and also allows you to compare schools.

Are you thinking of making a move to Omaha? If so let me know and I can send you a number of different links to information regarding some unique things we have happening. We have recently had legislation that creates one learning community out of all our districts and we also have a non profit with lofty goals for education...www.BuildingBrightFutures.org.

Looking forward to hearing from you,
Sherry Dixon

Jules,
Above is a link to the Omaha Public schools website with specifics for Elementary schools. The schools in the Dundee area are Harrison, Dundee and Rose Hill. All three buildings have been updated and have great reputations.
If you are searching middle schools they are Lewis and Clark and Monroe. The high schools are Central and Benson. You should be able to find information on all of these schools from this website.
Omaha has a very unique situation with our Public Schools. We have a benefactor for the District who has recently promised 20 million to improve education in our public schools!!
If I can answer any other questions for me please send an email to Sherry@SherryDixon.com. I do quite a bit of business in the area, in fact I grew up in those neighborhoods and have a special affection for them!

This is a real estate site, you won't find any employees of the school here. You should Google the school name to find their direct contact information.
