Consult a Real Estate Attorney. I am not an attorney but I would think(?) since the prior landlord no longer owns the property (assuming Title has transfered out of their name), they no longer own the items in the house they are wanting to take. I would think this would be considered theft and you might be held liable since you are living there? Again, I am not an attorney - contact one in your area. Also, you should probably contact the new owner of the property or their agent to make them aware of the situation.
