Ths is an older property and condos will sometimes do a special assessment to all owners for whatever repairs/improvements a majority of the owners vote To approve. My opinion is for you to ask current residents what they think of the place and make your decision based on that. They are the only ones who can give you an honest opinion on the matter.

Are you looking to live there a few years and then sell for a profit or are you looking to stay there for 6+ years?

Ask yourself what your priorities are and make a pros and cons list after speaking with the current residents.
