We own two corner homes. We love them! We are selling one because we find the commute between the two, one is a vacation and one the main house is getting longer. Both houses are on what most would consider busy streets. Both are well insulated with double paned windows, nice landscaping, and good trees. Both houses are quiet inside and the street sounds outside, because of the trees, are not that noticible. Street noise disappears at both homes at sunset and doesn't pick up until mid morning. Both are in lovely neighborhoods and we love, love, love the elbow room. For years we had non corner houses between neighbors on all sides and noise was a much bigger issue. We heard musical instruments, loud stereos, family fights, parties, pets, you name it. Dealing with noisey neighbors on all sides close in was terrible. We really don't have that with our larger lots on the corner. The occasional street noise is nothing by comparison. We love the privacy and the space. We would not own anything again but a corner house. ... more
