Farmers that have been farming their ag land for generations on their very fertile farms are lining up to sign lease agreements with Oil producers because of the royalties they derive. It's almost like a feeding frenzy.

My question and concern is the short and long term impact it will have on their property, the water and the fertility of the soil. Will the Bakken become one big wasteland or will folks be able to continue to farm and work the land and be compatible with oil?
