No law states what acre requirements but rule of thumb is 2 acres for 1 horse and 1 acre for additional horses but depends on size of horses. This gives sufficient pasture for grazing and less chance of bare land mud ect. But remember to place proper grazing seeds in bare areas. Do your research on proper and different types. ... more

I'm seriously considering leaving San Francisco in hope of finding a progressive area, art centric, farmers markets and all within walking distance. Being born and bread in sf I know I was spoiled but I'm hoping to find a place to purchase that will be centrally located to amenities. Anything comes to mind? Thank you!

Retired folks, Asheville commuters, small business owners, and students comprise most residents. Housing quality is relatively good; many newer homes and apartments. The business area is tourist oriented and there are several very good restaurants including a good French Quarter menu at Que Sera, and an excellent Mexican Restaurant: Ole's Guacamoles. Weekends during tourist season are busy, but the town is mostly rather sleepy and low key. Very low crime and reasonable property taxes. I've lived here about ten years and retired from San Francisco, California; Black Mountain suits me well. ... more

You are going to probably hate it. Not that it's bad. It is really, really polite compared with say, the middle part of the country, nevermind California. The typical interaction in California -- if you did that -- would be like throwing a cup of icewater (no, a whole bucket) onto your typical North Carolinian. Yes, it's that different. Or, put another way, most North Carolinians put into California are going to instantly hate the place. Partly because it's not as patriotic, partly because your average conversation is going to sound very aggressive. ... more

Hello. I am so sorry for your loss. I currently live in the Leland area, which is right outside of Wilmington. The area is beautiful, and still has a country feel depending on where you move. Its not quite all the hustle and bustle of a big town. Very nice area to raise a 4 year old. My children are 9, 7, 5, and 3. ... more

I am state and federally licensed to write mortgages in 31 states for a top direct lender in the mortgage industry who offers conventional, FHA, VA, and USDA loans. We keep your info private not broker it out and we go down to a 550 credit score for VA and FHA loans.. Are lowest score we accept for government loans are 550 when most lenders require a 620 and brokers a 580. You have to have two years of income with a score over 550 with bankruptcies discharge date 2 years and over. We have basic guidelines and a pretty easy process.
