I suggest that you hire an attorney. Not only will he be able to speak with them, but also assure that you are buying a property with no title problems. I would not rely on the title company the Seller's Bank is using. Too many horror stories. ... more

Mildew vs. mold and the other question is the source of the dampness or water. Only a licensed mold inspector can determine if it is toxic mold or not. Mildew you get from lack of ventilation, like in a bathroom without a fan. If it is an odor and not traced to a water source, bleach, paint and carpet can fix the problem. If it is an unknown black substance, i.e. mold the real trick is repairing the source of water. ... more
