There are many rentals in 30071. However, there are also many really nice homes. You can get a really good deal on a large home. If you have kids in middle school, the school may be a problem. But high school is very good. Lots of private schools if you prefer those. The location is great. Easy access to I-85 and I-285. Great shopping is close by at the Forum as well as good restaurants. Also Historic Norcross is close by and has nice community events and Farmer's Market. The restaurants there are not fancy, but they are unique and quaint and certainly good for dinner or lunch and not pricey. ... more

Eventhough you plan to not utilize the schools they will be a factor when you resell your home along with other factors that promote a good resale environment. If you have a Realtor sit down with them and go over the data very carefully, check with the neighbors to get a feel for the community you are about to choose, drive the area at different times of the day to get a feel for your new environment, check out the local parks and businesses you will frequent, check out the crime stats, and then make your decision.

You should consider Tribble Mill Park. It sounds like exactly what you are looking for.

It's not in the Norcross area, but if you work in Norcross the commute would not be difficult from this area.

There are many great opportunities to buy a home in the Lawrenceville/Grayson area that would be convienent to the park.

I've included a link for you to review some information on the park. If you are interested in searching for homes in this area be sure to contact me. I would be glad to help.
