Newtonville and West Newton villages are wonderful areas for walking around with lots of great small shops and eateries. West Newton Cinema is a terrific movie theatre offering a variety of movies. However, public transportation is limited to the commuter rail and express buses to Boston with a few other bus routes. ... more

Hi, Here is a link to all of the single family homes in Upper Falls:

Here is a link to all the single family homes in Waban:

As you see there are more single family homes for sale in Waban and for more money than Upper Falls. Upper Falls is also a bit more commercial in my opinion compared to Waban. I live in Waban and would be happy to answer any questions you may have, feel free to call 617-651-0081. Good Luck!

There's a logan express bus that goes to the airport from Natick/ Framingham MA (the stop is across from Shoppers' world), one way fare was $11 when I used it last year. So you'd need a friend to give you a ride from Waban to Shopper's world. Takes about 15 min.
Great option if you are traveling alone.

If you are going with the family, or there are several friends together, one could use JFK taxi service (based in Natick as well, but they serve metrowest), they will pick you up at your home, bring to the airport, and if you pay roundtrip they will come pick you up when you arrive, and you can arrange that in advance, (meaning, when your plane is arriving, they are already waiting for you, you don't have to call again). They have built in children car seats, and you can ask for a van if you have a lot of luggage.

One way $60, and roundtrip was 120 (but I had a coupon). Give them a call (508) 653-4500 ‎and see what they say. I see that yelp doesn't have great reviews, but I used them personally 6 times, and was always pleased - safe (yet fast) trip and nice driver. Maybe I lucked out :)

It is not a big issue, you can easily find a spot, it might be a little harder if you go there in the late morning, but you should be able to find a spot.

Did you get the information you were seeking?

The Newton Police Department can be reached at

The suggestion to walk the neighborhood and visit nearby shops and businesses is a good one, there are several wonderful coffeeshops nearby, the Country Desserts Bake Shop is right at the corner of River and Lexington St ... Auburndale Center and West Newton Center have a whole host of little shops and businesses that would really give you a good feel for the neighborhood.

Tough it is summer, you may wish to check out the two Elementary Schools which serve that neighborhood ... The Burr Elementary School and Franklin Elementary School. Whether you check the Newton Public Schools website or perhaps check the Massachusetts DOE website of School profiles

If I can be of any service, don't hesitate to contact me at or call (781) 304-1048

Get yourself a buyer's agent. That agent will be able to help you, especially in determining a fair selling price. Buyer's agents should review the property and complete a mini- market analysis to help determine where the property value is at the time you are making an offer.

As far as the flooding goes, you should ask that specific question of the seller. And ask them to put their response in writing. As a matter of course you should ask that the seller complete a "seller's description of property" which lists all kinds of information on their knowledge of their property. So it will tell you if they did any upgrades to the home, if they know of any problems, etc. In other words, anything that materially affects the value of the property.

Good luck,
