Newburgh Town zip code is 12550. Yes, this is a very nice place to raise a family. However, there are some very important points that you have to keep in mind to your challenge in raising a family. Your motivation, your values, your needs and wants; your income, your lifestyle, your goals for your family members, adults and the children. There are many locations to choose from and your best bet will be to connect with a community realtor who can take you in a tour of some of the homes and the communities. You will be sorrounded with art, history, indoor and outdoor recreation facilities. There are houses of worship, health facilities and services to chose from, restaurants and shopping facilities all over the Town, education facilities including the reputable Newburgh Free Academy with an array of multi-educational offerings and the most recent NYSED approved for operation in the school district, the Newburgh Prep Charter High School that is slated to open on September 2013. There is a community college operated by SUNY and a four year college. Living in 12550 is truly enjoyable for a family and what you do not find in this Town you will find in the neighboring Towns of this area. ... more

You can get commuter bus passes for less than $90 for 20 trips, 10 round trips at Port Authority. These are good for 20 days. At off peak, you can get a direct bus, which will get you from NYC to Newburgh in an hour. Generally it takes 1.5-2.5 hours to get from Newburgh to NYC. ... more

Hi Nicole,
I am a Licensed Real Estate Agent but also and educator. I am a New York State Certified Special Education Teacher and School Supervisor and Administrator. As an experienced educator I can tell you that schools are designed to provide a healthy teaching / learning environment. A learning process has to take place where the consumers, the children, are constantly challenged at their educational level to learn at their own pace and succeed where they can and as they can. It is the responsibilty of the teachers and administrators to ensure quality in the education provided and improve those areas as needed. But also parents must get involved to assist in the process. In fact schools not neccesarily have to be rated, schools are made by the children, the parents and the teachers. They all owe to each other and one can not function wihout one another. The quality of the education is determined by how the consumers and the members of the community work together in mutual goals that enhance education services as needed, ensuring the education deserved by each child. I will recommend that you make a visit to the Walkill School that your children will attend if you decide to relocate to this area. In the meantime I would like to invite you to visit my web site below indicated where you may find some useful information about schools. If you do not find the information that you need kindly contact me at your earliest convenience and I will try to do some reasearch ror your children's behalf. Sincerely, Ramon ... more
