I live in New Milford and Yes, the tax rate went up to 3.086; even though is great town the tax rate doesn't really match which what the town offers, if you compare with other towns close to New Milford all of them pay way less than us and the schools system in those other towns are very similar to New Milford or even better. I wish all the homeowners can come together and fight for this increase, it is insane ... more

There is a website you can go to that rates school systems in various towns. I believe it is called NJSCHOOLS.COM. If that doesn't work, go to ASK.Com and type in your question.

There is an area that is in the 500 and 100 year floods around the Boulevard so you should be aware of that. An agent can give you info on what areas are dry and others that aren't. I live in town so I would be happy to help if you need more info. ... more

New Milford is a wonderful town with easy access to public transportation and major highways. I have been living here for over 15 years and don't have any problems. There are just a few areas in New Milford that are susceptible to flooding, so don't let that hold you back from buying there. Just ask your realtor to look for homes that are not in flood zones. I wish you success in your search and if you decide to settle here, you won't regret it:) ... more
