No planes but there is A LOT of gun testing noise. I just moved here and the level of noise was NOT disclosed. Unfortunately, my brand new neighborhood is far too close to Eglin, and we are plagued with booms until well after midnight during the week and it is powerful enough to shake windows and walls. Eglin also has yet to provide any sort of test schedules to let you know how late they plan to test too. :( ... more

When choosing hurricane protection, consider the weight which will determine how easily you can put them on yourself; and also the discount from your insurance company, it varies according to protection.
Best discount and easiest is considered fabric screen, which can only be installed by licensed dealer. Cost is approx $20 sq ft. For about $8 sq ft you can get panels and you or your handy man install.
Brick can usually be cleaned with oxygen bleach or muriatic acid and then use a wet look sealer A regular sealer on brick lasts about 7 years. Hope that helps!

Hi Michael,

I hope you find someone who is able to help you out. One thing I would suggest you consider, if you are serious about looking now and ready to move as soon as the right house comes on the market, is a vacation rental. They will be more expensive, but if you are looking to rent for several months, they might be willing to work with you on the price. Unfortunately you are headed into the high season in Florida, like we are here in Arizona, so it is less likely you will be able to find flexible lease terms on a regular property than if it were May for instance.

You can find vacation rentals on Craigslist, VRBO, and HomeAway to name a few.

Best,

I am sure that there are many homes with swimming pools available. You probably want to consider some other criteria. Even if the home does not include a pool, you can always install one later. It would be a shame to pass up your dream house because it didn't already have a pool.

The listing agent will make buyer's agents aware if the seller is taking back up offers. This area is very buoyant right now.......we are seeing multiple offer situations, plus buyers missing out if they are not somewhat aggressive and proactive.

I hope this helps.
