I think it may be showing up there if you decided to "Quit" but still owed money. They went through the process of evicting you through the courts. Possibly, they didn't know you were out and had to go through the whole thing.
These things stay on your credit a long time and if you ever choose to move you will have a VERY difficult time securing a new place.
My recommendation is to go to the old place, see what you owe and see what you can do to fix it.

Good news is it is already 6 years old, so if you stay put another 4 years, many agencies may ok it with an extra deposit.

I recommend Fountain Glen at the Grand Isle in Murrieta. My wife and I were shopping for a nice place to live last year and had the opportunity to visit the wonderful complex. We were amazed at how nice they kept the exterior up and beautiful the apartments were. I would highly recommend you take a drive over and see what they have to offer.
Also if you looking to rent a small house or condo in the Murrieta/Temecula area, I cant say enough about how great it is to work with Jack and his team at Benefit National Property Management. They are the "A" team when it comes to providing nice home and condo rentals.
