This is their cell #. Her daughter Aujana wathes our kids on the weekends.

Mountain House has a few really good Home Daycare and Preschool facilities. I have never seen a more professionaly ran Preschool and Childcare than Treasure Molina's. Her website is www.mountainhousepreschool.com They are very diversified with children, have Spanish and English teachers teaching the children spanish throughout the days! I am very impressed and know she is considered to be the "mayor" of Mountain House! I would recommend her anyday! ... more

Hi Neighbor. Welcome to Mountain House.

You are in the Altamont Village if your home is located off of Pasadena. There isnt a scheduled date at this time. The village will need to be close to build out in order for the state and local governments to go ahead with construction. Most of the funding comes from the government and they have a head count that needs to be met before they can move ahead. Right now your neighbor's kids are probably going the Bethany school located in Bethany Village, across from the creek, on Escuela Drive.

Have you gone to http://mhvillages.com/forum/ this is a great site to connect with neighbors and keep up to date with the things going on in Mountain House.

This is a great time line. I do know that Jefferson School District has been trying for 8 years to build a high school.

Tracy Unified has to approve this plan, also there is a percentage of students that must be high school age prior to the San Joaquin County Board of Education will even consider a high school.

There are a lot of hurdles. With the current housing market, economy, etc, I'd plan on Freshman and Sophomores from Mountain House attend John Kimball High School in the fall of 2009.

Inne, students in Mountain House have K- 8 Schools that they attend, and most are in walking distance, except for the newest development areas.

As for the High School, right now students attend Merrill West High School in Tracy, which is 8 miles from the Market in Mountain House.

August, 2009 will see the opening of John Kimball High School in Tracy, and Mountain House students will attend this school. The distance is about the same, drive time, Kimball may be a touch farther.

If you have any further questions about the schools call or email me. With 5 kids, 2 of which have graduated from West High School, I completely understand your concerns and questions.

My aunt lives in Tracy which is approximately about 6 miles away from Mountain House, CA. Currently, high school students are attending Merrill F West High school located in Tracy. The new local high school should be built sometime around 2012, or when there are enough high school age students to support the planned facility.
