If your agent used the standard FAR listing agreement, there is a section on Broker Authority where the "seller authorizes the broker to advertise the property as broker deems advisable, including advertising the property on the Internet.... " It then lists some seller opt-out options you can check if you do not want your home displayed on the various real estate web sites that receive feed from the local MLS. If your agent used a different listing agreement, this section may or may not have been included in your agreement.

Here are some statistics that you may wish to consider before you ask your agent to remove the additional Internet advertising. 43% of home buyers start their initial shopping for a home on the Internet. 92% of home buyers use the Internet at some point during their home buying process. The Internet is a powerful marketing tool for your agent to expose your property to the largest number of potential buyers.

If you did find errors in the information on the Trulia listing, your agent can manually correct the errors by setting up a free account and claiming the MLS listing -- rather than deleting your listing from a site that will give your home a lot of exposure to potential buyers.

Please talk to your agent.

If you would like to check this home or others out, I would be glad to show you around. Let me know! ... more
