Hi Jpomeroy,

How are you doing? Hope you are enjoying your day off today. I know you wanted to know how much you Bradley Village Bethesda Maryland house 20814 was worth. Just wanted to know if somebody was able to help you do a CMA-Comparative Market Analysis on your house. The real estate market has changed since then.

If you or know anyone who wants a free CMA,please go to my website at and I will have one sent to you. Have a great day.

Hi Clarissa,
You should definitely contact the local police department on Philadelphia avenue next to the Takoma Park Library. As someone who has spent the better part of 20 plus years in that area with family who live there, I can tell you the neighborhood is pretty friendly. It has become safer and safer over the years. I have never had an issue personally. I would love to help you further with any housing questions should you have any.

Thanks for all of your replies. The neighbor told me that her contractors recommended her to remove the trees before digging up her driveway to prevent the trees from falling down as the tree roots have grown under the driveway. I didn't plan on cutting those trees but they are quite tall and pretty near my house. Probably a good idea to remove them for our safety as well as for the neighbor's benefit. $350 seems a bit expensive for grinding the stumps, though. I'd like to check if it s possible to get a lower cost from another tree company or should I tell the neighbor I'd pay $250? I'm on a limited budget because I ve been renovating my house and have a large debt. Any other advice? ... more

I suggest checking out Montgomery County's education site. Their site gives all of the vital info you'll need in deciding on a school, i.e., test scores, student-teacher ratios, etc.

Its a pretty area. Nice parks and beautiful views.
The cons are too many speed bumps (they literally have the 5mph ones every 50 feet down entire roadways), the roads need paving, they have too many potholes that tear up my car, too many overgrown and unpruned trees (if the wind gets up over 30 mph, expect your power to go out for at least a few hours, at worst a few days), too many dead trees that fall during storms (more power outtages).
I live in Sligo Station. Some of the neighbors there are really nice and friendly but there are a few that are very mean and miserable. When I lived in the ghetto (for most of my life) I've never had anyone treat me so badly.
There aren't a whole lot of places to shop and eat. I usually have to drive out of the neighborhood to get what I need.
Its kind of like the old saying "Beauty is pain".

It could be possible depending on your financial situation and HOA rules regarding renting your home.

I would recommend talking with a lender or two who will best be able to let you know what your options are.

Good luck!

Hi Sheila,
Bethesda is a fantastic area! I live downtown, but work out of the Bethesda office and am strongly considering relocating myself to Bethesda. Unlike some other suburbs in the area, it has very easy access to downtown, yet I don't think it is necessary unless you want to do something specific downtown. Bethesda offers a variety of fantastic restaurants, many of which are branches of downtown DC restaurants. In addition, the shops are top of the line! Great clothing, wine, electronics, shopping, not to mention the beautiful setting that Bethesda provides.

Bethesda has the culture of Washington, DC mixed with the charm of a small town with a great community feel. Redwood provides a fantastic dinner option with delicious food! Bradley Foods makes delicious sandwiches with other options too.

If you have young kids, I suggest checking out Imagination Bethesda, a wonderful festival that the kids will be sure to love. As always, if i can assist you with any of your real estate needs, I would love to speak with you further. Please visit my page to contact me at!

Yes, and your local expert can help you determine it.

You should know that, generally, the value of lots has sunk a lot farther than the value of homes did during the recent crash, because builders aren't building much and lenders aren't financing much.

Which makes buying vacant land an appealing speculative investment for people with cash . . .

As the others have said, the bank will order an appraissal to figure out the value of your property. That said, anytime you want sales data for yours or any other neighborhood in the DC Metro Area and beyond, go to:

and register for totally free data (active and sold) from the MLS.

That way, once you receive your appraisal, you can double-check their work. Best of luck to you.

I live in Nortwood. It's a nice community. Bruce Limiex has some good advice. Now about your approval, were you automated Approved based on income reveiwed and verified? Is your interest rate competitive?
Perhaps you can squeeze out a little more purchasing power by comparing with another lender.
