Hi Bhumi,
The NJ Transit bus stop is just 10-15 mins walking distance from Millponds off Rt 9 & Texas Rd. It is a commuter Bus No.64, Bus Stop ID# 23551. Runs weekdays only and is about 1 1/2hr ride. In this neighborhood there are three townhouse/condo developments - Millponds, Point De Jardin & Bellmont @ Marlboro. For a 2-3 bedroom @ Millponds & Pt De Jardin the price range is roughly betwen $200-$350K. I am a local agent. Please feel free to contact me if you have any other questions.

Thank you

You have two alternatives. You can drive about 15-20 minutes to the Princeton Junction train station for a 55 minute train ride into NYC. The train will take you into Penn Station. If you want to go to downtown Manhattan you can switch in Newark for the Path Train into Downtown Manhattan at the World Trade Center stop.
Your other alternative is to drive to the Park and ride in Monroe Township and pick up a bus which will express you into NYC getting on the NJ Turnpike at either exit 8 or exit 8A.

Hi...

Central Howell is an excellent place to be, as you have route 9 which connects to 195 which leads to
the Parkway North. My husband commuted to Staten Island from howell for 38 years, He worked for Con Edison. The commute took him 1 hour. The commute to Brooklyn would take you about 1 hour 20 minutes depending on the time of day..

Good luck to you...

If you are looking for a nice home, we are selling ours without a real estate. It is a four bedroom 2.5 bath home with a basement. The kitchen has just been done with cherry cabinettes granite counters and has a marble floor. The roof, air, heating system, windows, have all been replaced with in the past few years.

We are located at 11 Remsen Drive in Howell, and are selling the home because it is just too big for us, as the children have all moved on.

Good luck to you

I am also looking into moving to Morganville but now with NJ Transit rates going up its been making me sway away at the thought of paying close to $400 a month for the train in Matawan. I love that the schools are top shelf in Marlboro and that the area is very beautiful.. 1/2 hour from Newark Airport, close to friends and the beach. My problem is not knowing how the commute experience really is into the city. I see that the commute to Port Authority would be the best for me though since Im only 6 blks away from my job in midtown. Does anyone know how bad the commute gets with traffic? Is it over an hour? How much does the parking cost? How do I find information on that? Is Old Bridge the best bus route to take into Port Authority? I see its cheaper .. is it definitely #139? is that where the parking is? How do I get a permit? Thanks so much and sorry for the multitude of questions..if there's anything else I should know please let me know. ... more

Hi John-

No, there is not a bus from Hazlet to Holmdel. However there are areas in Holmdel that you can walk to from the bus station, it's pretty close. And there is a taxi service available.

When you did the commute to Manhattan, had they fixed the tie-up in Old Bridge near route 34?
That was a killer years ago, but now that they have widened the road over there, the traffic flows much better. I know I take the bus sometimes.

Yes, this would pertain to the Freehold area as well. There are some parts of Freehold along Rt. 79 that may make a commute closer and easier using the rail station. Best of luck to you:)

Hi,
You might want to define "long term" for parking. Overnight is OK.......30 nights in a row may have your car towed. If you are going to reside in the Rumson area, I would recommend using a taxi to and from the train or ferry dock when you planned to be away for any time. I live in Rumson and have taken a taxi to both the Red Bank train station and Highlands/Conners ferry. Both run about $12. ... more
