Monmouth Beach is coming back much faster than Sea Bright and Highlands. Builders and Contractors are not afraid of Monmouth Beach therefore there is a lot of activity especially in new construction, meaning purchasing damaged properties (from Sandy) and rebuilding both bigger and better. Other communities not so much.... I can not speak to where people are coming from directly but I can say that people looking for close access to the beaches and restaurants no matter where they are now. ... more

I would guess that you have found something by now, but there are winter rentals here in Monmouth Beach for as little as $1300/month at some of the condo complexes in town. We may be able to find something a little less in Sea Bright as well.

Yes certain areas of Monmouth Beach had considerable damage, however nothing like Mataloking and other shore towns further south. You need to know which streets and areas are pron to flooding.

You always should use a Licensed Home Inspector and one that is a member of ASHI....the
American Society of Home Inspectors. People think that a license is enough, but I find the ASHI seal is what sets him apart. Also, a home inspector that is a Structural Engineer is a plus because if there are any structural issues, he can find them without the homeowner contracting a structural engineer after the inspection to inspect for structural issues.
