They are not benefitting themselves if they do. I would call the agents broker and ask if they can assist. They agent may be green and needs some assistance.

Usually there is an agent working for seller(listing agent) and a different agent working for a buyer(buyer's agent). In these instances, the buyer's agent gives the offer to listing agent and listing agent working for the seller responds back to buyer's agent until a meeting of the minds occurs between the two parties. Sometimes the two parties cannot get to a point where the final price is acceptable to both parties. If the seller does not have their own agent, and a buyer does, then the seller would be negotiating with the buyer's agent. ... more
