Yanoska Diaz answered:
Well, most apartment/condo complexes require a tenant screening which generates your civil and criminal records, your credit scores, history of employment, residence, etc. Since you have never resided in the US you may be required certified letters of references from your employers, financial institutions, local authorities in order to secure a rental. ... more

Yanoska Diaz answered:
When you say you owe an apartment complex are you referring to a judgement filed against you for non payment of rent? If that is the case, once the new Landlord completes the tenant screening (and most of them do now a days) you will be a non wanted tenant. Rents are in very HIGH demand and Landlords can be flexible about a lot of things but prior evictions, judgements...tough one. ... more

A one month rental in Kendall? Not a single family home for sure...you need to look into short term rentals or hotel/motel websites.

Neighborhood safety should not be researched on a real estate on line forum. You should visit our local police department where I am sure you will find accurate information.

Any real estate agent enthusiast to discuss the safety of any particular neighborhood may be in violation of the anti discriminatory law. ... more

Luckily there are plenty of this property type in the West Kendall area (we don't have townhouses all over town :)). You need to contact a real estate agent that specializes in rentals to assist you. You should not do this on your own as rental scams are a dime a dozen, be very careful. ... more

Yanoska Diaz answered:
Out of town is never a good sign. Where did you find this rental? I can't find it anywhere...if he is asking any less than market value which is around $2,200 I would be quite suspicious as well.

Call a realtor that specializes in rentals in the West Kendall area, it is your best bet.

Jon Payne, Real Estate Pro in Miami, FL
Thu Feb 12, 2015
Jon Payne answered:
Jorge,

The best way to see the most up-to-date, active listings is to work directly with a licensed RealtorĀ®. Agents, sellers, and landlords do their best to keep Trulia updated, but changes happen so quickly in this market that web sites often get stuck with stale listings. And you are right--scams appear from time to time.

But nothing beats calling a local expert and having him help you through the process.

Very respectfully,

Jon Payne
