Our rental market has a shortage of homes available right now so owners and property managers can be very restrictive which makes it difficult for pets. I encourage you get a reference from your current landlord (if your renting) that mentions how your dogs have been and if they would rent to you again.

Having two dogs of my own, I know they are like family!

I keep a few rentals available for my clients who are in between homes and for those that are building a home so let me know what you are looking for and let me try to help.

Sincerely,
Jim

I have a great rental for $750 per month that has all of those specifications. The reason the monthly rent is low is because it will be a month to month contract, & the property may be listed for sell while it is rented so it will require allowing the home to be shown. Also, if the home sells to an owner occupant then 30 day notice would be given to vacate. Not ideal, but for someone having a home built or buying a home soon it would be a good situation. The owner could accommodate a short term need for to rent. You can call me at (208) 412-1927 if this appeals to you, or to anyone else seeing this post. ... more

Laura,

I don't have direct access to rentals but I have some property management contacts that you could contact. One thing I also tell people to do is to google property management companies in Boise and see what they have on their websites that are going to be coming up as rentals. If you call them, they may know of something in the future that may fit your needs. I also suggest people check Craigslist out and there is a website called hotpads.com which is very helpful. It has listings from individuals as well as property management companies.
As for your horses, there are stables that you can board your horse as well as individual property owners that rent pastures for horses. This would be something that would be best discovered by word of mouth or advertisements on websites, etc.

If I can be of any other type of help, please let me know.

Thank you,

Jim Paulson answered:
Sarah,

Did you know it might be possible to actually buy a home using your Section 8 Voucher to help offset the payments?

I was shocked when a client of mine was able to use their Section 8 housing voucher to buy a home in Meridian a few years ago. I had another client use their Section 8 housing voucher to buy a home last year in Boise too.

For that monthly payment, you would be in roughly the $150k price range and we can find lots of choices for a five bedroom home with a three car garage in the Meridian High School boundaries for that including possibly building a home!

Hope that helps give you some new insight and options. If you need details, contact me.
