Are you speaking of the sales history or real story of the home....history?

Over a period of years, we renovated a circa 1830 "saltbox" home in upstate New York and found one of the benefits of doing this work personally was collecting information and really coming to know the home in terms of construction phases, use of materials, and the best part finding letters, a family Bible, newspapers, musketballs, bottles, carpenter's notes written on a cedar shake, etc. that had fallen into an open wall from the attic. Some of the material was well in excess of 100 years old.

The local library is a great place to begin your investigation.
