This is a very popular thing to do right now in the McLean area, as well as many other Northern Virginia locations. With that being said you need to be made aware of not only the process, but the best strategy to being successful in acquiring a specific piece of land. Please call me at 703-307-3449 to discuss. I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,
John Ginty

My research shows that there is one property that was scheduled to go for Auction on July 6th of this year. The owners normally have a chance to cancel the auction until the day of auction. I cannot see whether or not the auction did take place, the county website does not currently show a change of ownership.

You do not want to trust an listing that does not have the full street address, (unless you sign up with them). That is how they make money! Most legitimate listings will have the full address visible so you can look it up.

There is another home on the same street that is in pre-foreclosure stage. the owners will hopefully find a way to keep up and get out of that. BUT it is a much larger home.

Good luck

Virginia is a Community Property state. Even if he owned the house prior to you getting married, a portion will belong to you. That percentage is what the lawyers and the courts will decide. It need not be written that way.
You should be dealing with this from the very first day with your divource attorney. If not, get a new one.

All Real Estate records are public, and many counties records are on line. Since this home is in McLean, the Fairfax County Courthouse has the records, and they are open for your review daily. They are on the third floor in the new Fairfax County Courthouse in Faifax. It's actually pretty cool, and they are very friendly and helpful over there! The link will go to the web page that tells you their hours and how to accomplish your search! I hope this helps, Jim. ... more
