Dub -- There are several reasons to sell. I don't know the particulars of the complex, I could look into it if you need the info. But the general economy could be enough for someone who bought a unit for high 300's or in the 400's to be looking to sell. Maybe it is a financial burden. Maybe they bought looking for a nice townhome near easy commute to work and now are moving on. The fact of the matter is that there are "so many" properties for sale everywhere. And remember, there are more that took their homes off the market because they didn't get the price they wanted. So the shadow inventory is even larger. You say that you are a homeowner. If you like where you live, and can afford it, you're all set. If you're looking to sell, be prepared to price your home competitively if you want to move sooner. Otherwise you'll just be another listing among the many. And with fewer buyers out there, and tougher financing, it could be a long wait. Life's too short, right? These apartments are way overpriced. There is a Low Income component and the types this brings in will reduce the quality of life. If they were priced in the low 50's they might be able to attract singles and then - they would of course - have to shed the low income aspect before any considerations are to be made.

I agree with some of the other bloggers this is a slum waiting to happen.
