Hi Kevin; Have you purchased your ocean front property yet? Possibly Humboldt County?
Humboldt County Coastal Trail Implementation Strategy Public Draft Release and Workshop Announcement
Provided to me by my Humboldt County Realtors Association in a newsletter.

The public is encouraged to review the findings of the draft plan for the Coastal Trail through Humboldt county and share ideas about how the California Coastal Trail can serve community interests and regional trail goals. They explain in the announcment that "The Humbodlt county Coastal Trail Implementation Strategey analyzes public and agency input on Coastal Trail route recommendations and provides guidance to complete this network of coastal trails and routes through Humboldt County"
The draft Implementation Strategy can be rfeviewed online at: http://www.naturalresourcesservices.org/cct
That is probably best for you since you are in Auburn, California otherwise they list a number of other places where we can go to preview the draft like for instance the public library in Eureka at the reference desk and alot of other places were mentioned. Other locations mentioned, Eureka City Hall,Public Works Department 3rd Floor of City Hall
Arcata City Hall, environmental Services Department
Ferndale City Hall
Loleta Post Office
Trinidad Town Hall
Orick Post Office
Petrolia General Store
Manila Community Services District Office

the project is coordinataed by the Natural Resources Services Division of Redwood Community Action Agency and funded by the State Coastal Conservancy. They would like comments by Friday, December 3rd on the draft Humboldt county Coastal Trail.

Have you relocated to Humboldt county by now?

Two public workshops will be held to discuss the Implementation Strategy and plans and designs for two proposed coastal Trail segments. the workshop dates are:

Tuesday, November 30th 6-8 pm Orick Community Services District Hall, Orick
Wednesday, December 1st 6-8 pm Wharfinger Building, Eureka

If you are still thinking of 250 acres of beach front property in Arcata, you may very well be interested of the updates for the Draft Release and Workshop Announcement coming in a few days.

Hope you enjoyed a lovely Thanksgiving. It will be nice to hear from you, and if I can be of further assistance for your real estate needs....Saundra Allman DRE #01188528

wow! That much acreage still available in Arcata? In my opinion, whoever has that kind of land in is sitting on a gold mine. I have worked with acreage similar in Malibu a few years ago and sold it for about 19million dollars. Many times it could be possible to sell for about 900.00 to 1000.00 per acre. It will also depend on how much would be dunes and how much of that land is protected.

What a find this would be! Most Oceanfront parcels have incredible values depending on the developability of the parcel. The development issues would begin with the California Coastal commission, county building and planning just to name a few. Without considering the issues and giving you a calculated guess, I would say the value of the property would run between $10,000 to &15,000 per acre.

Hello Kevin Heinisch/ Other/Just Looking Auburn,CA
I have a friend with 8.7 acres that was asking $1.4 Million down from $4.5 Million from previous attempt with current economic times and lowered property values. Uhmmmm It would take some more research, and possibly in addition a paid appraisal up front for peace of mind and clarity of true actual market value for such a quantity that is scarcely available for beach front property for that many acres. How much is buildaable and how much is preserved and untouchable. ..And the Value of ocean front property untouched! You see this type of large acreage more commonly in raw rural land agricultural or timber more often.
By the way I have a beautiful listing of .73 acre in McKinleyville, neighbor to Arcata! $314,000 across the ocean side of the pacific Ocean on Sand Pointe Drive. for more information, please click on the link below. I would love to hear from you again. Sincerely, Saundra Allman
