what is the reasoning for the steep decline in sales in 2014 is the graph calculated monthly. Can we assume a decline in price will follow?

You are probably talking about new home sales nationwide. One month is not a trend. The trend is solidly in the other direction.

One would have to question your information source.

Burnt Store, Punta Gorda, Port Charlotte, North Port, Englewood, Venice, and the surrounding area are all experiencing price increases and declining inventory. Additionally, the number of distressed sales is greatly deminished. At this point, one could hardly predict decreasing prices.....

Unless I am reading something wrong trulia web site for Punta Gorda shows a price drop of 3.2 % over the last year and a recent increase in listings and a decrease in sales and a decrease in list price. I am missing something?

To what graph are you referring? I hope you mean 2013... The NUMBER of closings might have been lower in January than in recent months, but new contracts are definitely increasing.

Prices are continuing to rise and home building is going up in Punta Gorda. You can go to our local Realtor Association to read a couple of articles. http://www.pgpcnprealtors.com/

When I look at the trulia web site for Punta Gorda it shows a decrease in both sales and price and a increase in listings. Maybe I am reading something wrong.

It's only 2013 so It's impossible to graph sales for 2014. 2013 is only 1 month of data available. Could you have meant another year?

The graph I was looking at started in 2000 up to 2013 I was not sure if it was showing a steep decline in Jan 2013 or after, regardless the decline is significant...am I ready something wrong?
