I have asked myself the same question. You are right, they do look abandoned. Unfortunately, their timing could not have been worse. These very high end units came on the market (for between $700,000 and $1,500,000) just as the real estate market started to crash. They did not sell a single unit. They have been in pre-foreclosure since 2009. Only time will tell what will happen to them in the future.

It is a Homeowner's Association with very low maintenece and you get a slip for your boat.
They are still under construction and being sold.
Many of the units are finished and are absolutely gorgeous and the craftmanship is superior.
I heard that they have sold around 25 or more out of 61.
I am also considering buying.

I am in the insurance business ALL FORMS
Thanks-hope this helps
