Scottsdale is a very active town. I particularly like the old town and the art walk on Thursdays from 7 to 9pm. My kids love to see all the paintings, sculptures, etc.

There are a TON of things to do in Scottsdale. It depends on the time of year and what you are looking for. Family events, singles, retirees. There is more than enough activities for everyone.

Well...if u dont like parks, ur kinda screwed. There really isnt anything to do except mindlessly walk around the same 2 malls that have the same stores...for eternity.

Its funny, with all the commercial build up over the years, not one person has decided to open up something seriously unique that people would actually want to pry themselves out of the house to do.

For example: The Film Bar in downtown. Now here is a guy with vision:)

I wish some seriously good night clubs and real places of culture would open up...and maybe, even a cool performing arts cafe...something....jeeez.

Im so glad I didnt wait for something creative to open and got the hell outta there years ago.

Good luck, people of scottsdale. Prey on a creative group of millionaires to do something artistic.

For kids try the McCormick Stillman Railroad Park at Indian Bend and Scottsdale Road or the new Butterfly Wonderland on Via Ventura in McCormick Ranch. For families there are all kinds of parks throughout Scottsdale, hiking trails, and water parks in Phoenix. For a fun afternoon take the kids to the Musical Instrument Museum in North Phoenix just off Tatum and the 101-the kids can play musical instruments while you tour the Rock and Roll exhibit-
This is just for starters-search for things to do in the Valley at and look for anything you want-too many more interesting things to do and eat than room here!!!

The weather is so gorgeous here, especially this time of year. I'm not sure of the age you are looking for. If you are a family with kids there are many children's museums, waterparks, and your usual lazer tag and go cart places like Cracker Jax's on North Scottsdale Rd. If you are an outdoor person there are many, many hiking trails. Pinnacle Peak, Gateway, Camelback and the south McDowells are all available. Of course shopping and dining areas like Scottsdale Quarter, Keirland, Old Town and Fashion Square abound. Golf is everywhere as well as many jeep tours, hot air balloon rides and much more. The list never really stops.

Scottsdale is rich in so many activities. The Scottsdale Center for the Arts has a variety of cultural programs. We love classical music so the Virginia G. Piiper series with wonderful pianists is our favorite. Tennis, golf, water sports at nearby lakes, horseback riding, polo are just some of the available offerings. Of course, Scottsdale is second to none as far as shopping goes.

If you go a bit farther to Phoenix, the symphony, ballet and opera have outstanding programs as well as theater. One treasure that is on the border of Phoenix and Scottsdale is the Musical Instrument Museum. That is a world class exhibition of instruments from every country in the world, plus you can hear them as well as see them as you pass each displayt. Don't miss MIM.
