I certainly agree with John.

In the long run, the best defense against any crime is a good informed offense! Most Police Departments have a Neighborhood Crime Watch program. I would also highly advise you subscribe to your area Nixle feed/service here: https://nixle.com/city/ca/lincoln/

Truth be told, the best way to stay safe is to introduce yourself to your neighbors, exchange numbers, and agree to keep a look out for any suspicious activity around each other’s homes. Even better; start a neighborhood crime watch group, you will appreciate the tangible and intangible benefits of doing so.

Hi crogel67,

Realtors® looking to minimize Federal legal exposure via "anti-steering" law do not comment on "crime & safety"; however, we can direct you to information sources to allow you to come to a personal opinion about an area.

In this regard, my favorite site is http://www.crimereports.com
Note: Once you enter a property address go to the "Advanced Search" tab to select what type of information is important to you. Next, choose the duration of time you want to look at under "Date Range" (now limited to a 6-month view). You can also try these alternate crime reporting sites: http://tinyurl.com/a34pmyc

Depends on what you are used to! I would walk or drive the neighborhood both in the day and the night and get a feel for it.

To answer you question I guess maybe its not the best area if everyone else is considering for you to join the neighborhood watch program. Depends on what you consider good and safe, its better than a lot of other places.

I must give Steve a Wadaguy for that as well. We just recently formed a neighborhood watch program after all these years and my wife and I have actually had an opportunity to meet neighbors we've never met. Plus the wine and cheese was great!

Steve, if you read this please give me a call at 760 815-6977 or email me at onthelevel@cox.net. I just blurted this out because I didn't want to forget to reach out to you. I have a possible client who is looking for construction financing and then a take out replaced with a long term mortgage. Hope you handle these types of transactions. I'll email you with more info. Thanks.

Nowadays what with unemployment and poverty at all time highs throughout America what were once very safe and secure areas are becoming more vulnerable than ever before because they are considered high valued targets.

I've been in my home for 33 years and never even locked my doors until recently. Now I'm having a state of the art security system installed because we've had a burglary spree during this past year. You just have to take the proper safety precautions no matter where you live. No real estate professional can help you pick a safe area.
