Cary, North Carolina has regularly been rated as one of the top places to live and also #3 Safe small town in America. Wellsley is a community less than a mile from my office. It has larger lots and is very established with a great swim team. As the others mention below click on a few of the links for details on the safety in this area.

When it comes to any safety/crime related issues, it's always best to contact the local police department with all your questions, hear all there is to hear firsthand. If unfamiliar with the area(s) do revisit more than once and at different times of day, possibly chat with locals/neighbors. Real estate professionals are prohibited from steering, enticing a buyer to purchase/rent, or not, in specific neighborhoods.

There are many national recognitions over the years for Cary. A great place to see them is the Town of Cary website ;and of course check with the police department for the community to hear for yourself. If you have a particular subdivision in mind, the police department can narrow the area down with particular questions you may have.

Safe is all relative to who you are and any Realtor knows that they shouldn't answer a question like that, other than to say "check the crime statistics.". Your best bet is to do that and to drive around the neighborhood and area and judge for yourself. If you want to sign a buyer agency agreement and designate me to work for you, I'll be happy to be a lot more candid, but for now, I'll leave it at this.
