Crime statistics are available from the Milwaukee Police Department for different neighborhoods/zip codes.

When it comes to any safety/crime related issues, it's always best to contact the local police department with all your questions, hear all there is to hear firsthand. If unfamiliar with the area(s) do revisit more than once and at different times of day, possibly chat with locals/neighbors. Real estate professionals are prohibited from steering, enticing a buyer to purchase/rent, or not, in specific neighborhoods.

TO answer this question, you are best off going to the Milwaukee Police Department's website for the crime statistics.

I also suggest a little recon of your own. Drive through the area at 3 different times of day - morning, afternoon, night then and that can help you make a determination. It would be wise to do this on a weekday then a weekend.

While you are scouting, note the homes in the area. Are they well kept? Are their lawns mowed (or drives and walks shoveled)? Get a general feel for the area. Trust your instincts and temper them with the crime reports.

Good luck.
