The best thing you can do is pull a crime report from the local police, and do some online research with regards to crime rates in that area. Also, it's a good idea to drive around at different times to get a feel for a neighborhood. If you have further questions, feel free to contact me.

When it comes to any safety/crime related issues, it's always best to contact the local authorities with all your questions, hear all there is to hear firsthand. If unfamiliar with the area(s) do revisit more than once and at different times of day, possibly chat with locals/neighbors. Real estate professionals are prohibited from steering, enticing a buyer to purchase/rent, or not, in specific neighborhoods.

Among Trulia's collection of many real estate tools, they have crime statistics for most cities. On the menu at the top of this page, hover over LOCAL INFO, then click COMMUNITY INFO. In the search bar that will appear under the menu, enter the city .

For West Palm Beach, here's a direct link:…

Trulia provides local crime reports. I also suggest that you check with the local police department to get specific crime report answers you may be seeking. Licensed agents in any area might not only be aware of crime specifics but even if they were we must direct you to third parties to give you an answer to your question.

Trulia has all the crime reports for a given city that you choose, just go to the top click on Local Info then Crime and you’ll find charts, statistics, violent, and non-violent crimes, etc.
