Florence, from my perspective, a realtor, based on permit surveys and listing prices of homes in Glencoe on lots with area of 7400-9100, the prices range from $389-$480 PSF. Most construction is masonry and include appliances and finishes. Most of these homes are located in south , central Glencoe on streets named for the early presidents. They offer an easy walk to the Metra Station. The list prices reflect a land cost to finished end product ratio of, say, 38%. This ratio is based on averages since 2000. You may know that the spec buiders in Glencoe have been over positioned since 2005 and the price of a tear down on a 50 x 182 has fallen 20% from its 2005-2006 peak and currently trade between $365,000-to about $430,000. Tree permit fees may be significant. This analysis also applies to Northbrook, Dist 28.

So much depends upon the area and the homesite. In the OKC metro $110 plus per foot is a good "ball park." The nicer the home and the better the location---the pricer the build. Generally your question is too vague, a real answer can only be derived when the plans are laid out and the location is defined! Good Luck!

As a general contractor I could build 3200 sqf house for $120 per sqf.Usually I don't like to give cost per sqf , I prefer to calculate cost based on specific plan.
