Here's what I think of Arcadia:
"Arcadia is one of the most coveted areas in all of Southern California. Located in the lush San Gabriel Valley, homes are often quickly sold and professional agents (like us) who list correctly get multiple offers as soon as houses are listed.
Arcadia is one of the few areas in the nation where home prices recovered extremely quickly and are currently on the rise. Arcadia has one of the best school districts in the nation, highly lauded and winner of multiple educational awards. Many families buy houses here while their children go to school and then sell when they go off to college.
The city is extremely clean, safe, and well maintained. There are plenty of trees and the streets are large.
Arcadia is also extremely close to the San Gabriel Mountains which makes it perfect for bird watchers, hikers, campers, backpackers, etc. It's also close to the 210 freeway so you can go skiing, snowboarding, fishing, surfing, or anything else in just an hour or two from home. There are also lots of amazing restaurants in the area. All of the big name grocery stores (along with Whole Foods, Trader Joes, and Sprouts) are all within a 15 minute drive.
Arcadia is also home to the Arcadia Arboretum, Santa Anita Mall, Santa Anita Race Track, and is close to The Huntington Library.
Your current / future city is perfect for families, single homeowners, couples, and retirees. The perfect place to settle down and have your dream home, or live here for a few years while you start your future."
It's for all of these reasons that the market is so "competitive". For people just looking for a wonderful home, without the school element, they can find equally amazing houses for a lot less!
