Why are prices in ELA so variable, and high?

Asked by Jk2001, Rosemead, CA Mon Oct 8, 2007

I notice that recorded sale prices are a higher than in some nearby areas that are generally considered "nicer". (i.e. fewer hits on the sex offenders map, fewer gang incidents.) Are properties really selling for that much?
