We want to dispute the LA County Tax Assesors recent review of our Total Real Value of 317,720 for a 2bed, 2ba

We are located in the Hidden Hills subdivision in Castaic, Ca 91384 area and are in need of comparable sales close 1/01/09 but no later than 3/31/09 per their requirements. We have found only a couple homes close to those dates but they are larger homes and one of them sits on a much larger piece of property. What other options can we look into to be sure we are being assessed a fair value?

I would call the LA County Tax Assessors office and make an appointment to speak with someone in person. They will help you dispute the value of your home or give reasons on why they won't. All property taxes are based on purchase price (and upgrades - maybe you've installed a pool). Unfortunately, it's not easy to convince LA to reduce your taxes.

You are definitely able to appeal this review. There is a board that hears reviews and they tend to be very pro-home owner. I have an agent that specializes in this area and can help you with this. Please email me directly and I will be happy to assist is needed.
