Well... I'm sure you will get tons of "Hey, Use me as your Agent" answers... but I decided to actually answer your questions directly.. ;)

For Crime Rate and Area Data - Go here: (If the link does not work, cut and paste the whole thing with no spaces)

http://www.sahomeexpert.com/frame.shtml?http://www.onboardna…

As far as sales data for the zip of 78253 - Here's more than you wanted to know:

In 2011 year to date (Single Family Residential) - 457 Home Sold at an average sales price of $206,119 with the average days on the market of 133 days. Homes this year sold for an average of 96% of the original asking price indicating that most people bought these homes with an average of a 4% discount from list. (Not bad info to have)

In 2010 (Single Family Residential) - 468 Home Sold at and average sales price of $205,843 with the average days on the market being 115 days. Homes this year sold for an average of 96% of the original asking price indicating that most people bought these homes with an average of a 4% discount from list.

In 2009 (Single Family Residential) - 524 Homes Sold at an average sales price of $198,559 with the average days on the market being 118 days. Homes this year sold for an average of 96% of the original asking price indicating that most people bought these homes with an average of a 4% discount from list.

As you can see.. the growth in property value has not shot through the roof in the past 3 years, but in a down market for sellers, the area has still experienced a positive growth, slow and steady. In most places in the country, you have actually seen the prices on average go DOWN, so to see these still going up, even in this market is a good indication that the area is solid.

Fact is, this is the best buyer's market we have seen or may see again in our lifetimes. You have picked a great time to get started for a multitude of reasons.

Just for fun... here are all of the homes currently for sale in the zip code. (3 Bed, 2 Bath or bigger, 2 Car Garage, 2100 sqft or bigger, $150K to $250K) If you would like me to expand this list for you or narrow it down further..... don't hesitate to ask... it would be my pleasure:

We went there but we're looking for re-sale homes in that community and saw several. Any websites recommendations.

Hi,

The Del Webb community is a lovely area! The investment there should be stable as the population is aging. You will find interesting crime statistics by visiting some of the following webpages: http://www.sanantonio.gov/sapd/indexcrime.asp or http://www.spotcrime.com/tx/san+antonio.

Our sales prices are beginning to rise over sales prices from a year ago. I would be glad to help you calculate possible equity growth based on the specifications of the type of property you are interested in purchasing. I am an Accredited Buyer Representative and am experienced in assisting buyers with their real estate investments here in the San Antonio area. Please feel free to contact me for more information!

Sincerely,
