Hahaha. "Time to be upbeat and positive..."

No. Prices are not going up. No. Sales are not going to start happening. No. No one belives thier Realtor anymore when they say it is a "Great Time to Buy!!!" Do not miss out.

"now and the coming months may be the best time in the last several years with prices adjusting downward." This is actually saying since prices are going down you should buy. Unreal.

Becki, Thanks for the invite to talk about the PNW area! The bottom feeders such as the those who posted mockingly are distasteful, to be sure.

I love homes and just bought our dream home. Now we have to sell ours though we are in no hurry. We get the keys to our new home next week. Yea!

There are still sellers who haven't adjusted their expectations for today's market. Still trying to sell at 2006 prices. But when a property is great and priced well, buyers do come out of the woodwork. I was one and I hope to get some when I sell.

I think everyone needs to be reasonable in expectations and offers.

In Whatcom county alone we have had a reduction in inventory (gone down about 100 homes year over year for the last 2 years) Indeed we have had tremendous adjustment (downward yes) BUT my point is this. ATTITUDE ! Not closing our eyes to the 'reality' of our market. We still remain one of the best housing markets and most desirable places to live in the Nation, and we weekly see homes pending and closing as people continue to invest in Real Estate in the great NW. Why not remain upbeat! Somebody has to!

There is an uptick in buyers in recent weeks in the Whatcom County area, and open houses are getting more visitors, typically lookers or near future sellers sizing up their competition and price. There will always be buyers, of course, but now and the coming months may be the best time in the last several years with prices adjusting downward, the choices being plentiful, and sellers needing to compete with short sale and forceclosure homes. So, location first, then go for it. And, yes, use a buyer's agent, preferably a nationally accredited Buyers' Rep, ABR---. Reliable Robert Campbell of RE/MAX Bellingham
