How has the real estate market been performing in the past 5 years in Northern Arizona?

Asked by Mm123, Scottsdale, AZ Fri Mar 28, 2008

How has the real estate market been performing in the past 5 years in Northern Arizona, especially in Williams, Prescott and Prescott Lakes? Specifically, how has growth and new development been effected with the downturn of the real estate market? Thanks!

Being from Prescott the only thing I can say is wow. New development is actually on the rise. You will not see the tractors rolling yet but it is all in the planning stages. I stay abreast of all city council planning and zoning issues and they are reviewing plat maps constantly. The stakes have changed and the residential developers are staying close to Prescott. Downtown has a few multi-condo dwellings that are still in architectural stages. If you are just talking new home sales with existing developments and new home starts, of course that has slowed way down from 2006. But there are some great companies on the ground like Suncor, Brown Family, and Universal.
Commercial Development is booming in Prescott Valley and in Prescott with new companies coming in and the Airport expanding. The growth looks like a small portion of that few years ago but all of the dirt that was bought in 2005-2007 is now getting improved.
Hope that answers your question
