The convenience store here in TD near Trout Creek Rec Center has lots of quick fix things and a decent selection, Dean cooks a great "fowlburger" there in the summer - a true convenience store (a definite upgrade from the 7-11 wine selection) - Safeway down the hill has eye popping selections but may be the highest priced Safeway in the state, Save Mart down 89 a mile or so is much cheaper but has limited selection.
We do most of our local shopping at Safeway, some at Save Mart. I take clients to lunch at the TD market or at "The Lodge"
For bulk it is Costco, Trader Joe's and Whole Foods in Reno - which incidentally is where you can fill the gas tank without feeling like you are being ripped off quite as bad.
IF - (and "if" is the operative word here) you want RE info from a local RE agent with 23+ years of local experience - reach out to me for straightforward data.
Get ready for winter, it is close - get the skis, snowboard or snowshoes dialed in. Get the right tires on your car, have a survival pack in the backseat, keep the tank over half full and get ready for an "A" ticket ride.
If you are here for the winter or longer consider joining the "nextdoor" web forum - google it for TD and you'll figure it out - a good neighborhood watch kind of thing where the bad guys are usually the bears who get into garbage and make a mess. Overall a nice local resource for all things above 6,000'
